Each Asymmetric Birdhouse includes a unique, no-tool, opening method. Dimensions of this design are, from very top to very bottom, approximately 24". The very bottom of the box is up to 9-1/2" wide. The distance from the bottom of the entry hole to the interior floor is 6" to 7" (the nest compartment is in the upper half of the box). A perching / roosting area exists between the interior floor and the lower insulator. This box is designed mainly for bluebirds (with 1-9/16" entry hole) and swallows (1-3/8" entry hole) yet can be made smaller for Chickadees, Nuthatches, and Wrens.

Please see the Sales page for complete information on retail locations, pricing of birdhouse designs and how to order directly from Fowl Places.

This design is also available in a flat bottomed version (below and right). The addition of the flat bottom alows the birdhouse to be placed in a wider variety of outdoor locations (ledges, stumps, post with platform, etc.).

Asymmetric Birdhouses are available in a 'Left' or 'Right' version - the direction in which the roof slopes (see above and below).

Old U-bolts and tabacco drying hooks are often incorporated into the Asymmetric Birdhouse design. This particular birdhouse (to the left) was primarily designed for Mountain Bluebirds (1-9/16" entry hole).
